Leadership in transition: Making complex expectations understandable
CRIF is in the process of introducing a new leadership model (known as the TRUST model) that sets high expectations for leadership and collaboration.
The challenge was to communicate this abstract model in a way that would be quickly understood by all managers and employees—without getting lost in long texts or PowerPoint documents.
The solution: a big picture as a visual basis for leadership culture
The big picture visualizes the TRUST model with clear elements and recommendations for action throughout the entire employee life cycle. It replaces complicated documents with a clear, easy-to-understand image and makes leadership skills tangible.
This creates a common understanding: Who leads and how? What values apply? Where do I start, and what are the key points for action? The image is presented centrally and serves as a basis for all managers and employees alike.
This is how the big picture came about
1. Clarify content and structure
In a workshop with executives from Germany and Austria, the TRUST model was explored in depth together with CRIF-HR and the key elements were prioritized.
2. Develop visual imagery
Based on the workshop results, a visual language was developed that complies with CRIF's corporate design guidelines and makes the model visually translatable.
3. Fine-tuning & coordination
The big picture was finalized in coordination rounds with CRIF—ready for use in executive onboarding, employee reviews, and internal communication.
Effect & Results
The big picture made it much easier to introduce the new leadership model at CRIF: it made complex content understandable and increased understanding and acceptance throughout the company. The image made a particular impression on Leadership Day and received positive feedback from managers.
"The leadership model made tangible"
Our "big picture" has made the new leadership model easier to understand and has strengthened acceptance among managers and employees, which has made the change process much easier.
The introduction and implementation of a new leadership model requires targeted and clear communication to ensure lasting success. Our "big picture" plays a decisive role in this and will provide us with significant support. During the first internal information events, we already noticed that the visualization in the 'Big Picture' made the originally abstract model much more understandable and accessible for managers and employees. We look forward to using this valuable communication tool in all our future initiatives and measures to make the change effective and comprehensible."
