Initial situation & challenge: Clarifying roles and responsibilities in leadership
Leadership plays a central role at Fendt in terms of quality, safety, and long-term business success. To ensure this in the long term, the roles and responsibilities were worked out in an internal workshop with people from all locations. The task now was to explain these in their entirety and anchor them firmly in the organization.
The challenge was to present abstract leadership guidelines, individual development aspects, and operational responsibilities in such a way that they provide guidance in everyday life. The aim was to make visible how leadership works in practice, what expectations exist for individual roles, and why they are crucial for the end product.
The solution: Clear clarification of roles with application examples
The Fendt Vario 700 represents the central anchor that drives daily operations. It illustrates that successful products can only be created through effective leadership. Around this center, five leadership principles show how goals, qualifications, cooperation, role modeling, and customer focus intertwine and influence the end product.
The roles of team leaders and group leaders are clearly distinguished from one another and explained in an understandable way with their respective tasks. These tasks are then explained in the individual scenes using examples. The individual scenes make leadership tangible: from the continuous improvement process to individual qualification and joint goal achievement to passionate collaboration with a focus on the customer.
In this way, the big picture provides orientation, strengthens a shared understanding of leadership, and supports communication across levels.

Individual development opportunities
Managers not only create a respectful working environment, but also support employees by offering individual development opportunities. Regular feedback ensures that every employee can progress in the long term.
Achieved through skills
Individual support helps to unlock full potential. By guiding and developing employees, the goals set can be achieved together.
The goal: satisfied customers
The most important factor is people. Growth can only be achieved through perfection and daily passion. With added value for customers, which employees and managers constantly keep in mind.
This is how the big picture came about
The foundation for the big picture was laid long before the creation process began: in an extensive internal workshop at Fendt, the roles were developed, defined, and recorded in examples. In order to translate these into a structural overview, image development began with Big Pictury.
1. Kick-off
Together, leadership principles, role models, and key tasks for team and group management were structured. By taking a fresh look at the topics, a basic framework could be identified.
2. Visual world & iteration
The content was translated into a clear visual world: a hero product at the center, the leadership guidelines as supporting elements, and supplementary scenes as a legend explaining the roles.
3. Feedback & Fine-tuning
In several coordination steps, the image was further sharpened, simplified, and geared toward comprehensibility and everyday usability. Supplemented by details, the final big picture emerged.
Effect & Results
The Big Picture serves as a common frame of reference for leadership at Fendt. It helps managers understand their role, consciously take responsibility, and practice leadership in a consistent manner. It is useful for training purposes and thus benefits not only managers, but also employees, who gain a better understanding of leadership and can therefore offer even greater added value to customers.
"This benefits [ ...] our customers."
"The Big Picture helped us understand our leadership model as a whole and communicate it consistently. Complex leadership principles, roles, and responsibilities are brought together in a shared image, making them much more tangible—for managers and employees alike. It provides clear guidance in everyday life, supports training and development, and helps to ensure consistent leadership. This benefits collaboration, quality, and ultimately our customers."
