A Big Picture for JYSK employees!
Working with Big Pictury and based on employee feedback, JYSK developed a “Big Picture” that highlights past achievements, future goals, and specific opportunities for improvement. With this image, JYSK recognizes the dedication of its workforce, and the result is an image that is now used in employee communications worldwide.

Starting Point & Challenge: Capturing Employee Feedback and Engagement in a Single Snapshot
JYSK is one of the world’s largest retailers in the home and bedroom furnishings sector and employs thousands of people in Germany alone. And the company is convinced that it owes this success above all to its employees! That’s why JYSK goes to great lengths for its employees—and wanted to showcase this with a “Big Picture.”
JYSK regularly collects feedback from its workforce through employee surveys. These surveys cover topics such as “working conditions,” “job content,” and “learning & development.” JYSK takes the valuable feedback from these surveys seriously and implements it as quickly as possible where necessary. In the past, this has included, among other things, open communication about career opportunities across all positions.
JYSK approached Big Pictury with the goal of presenting the improvements already achieved, as well as the targets still to be met, to its German colleagues in a way that was both appealing and easy to understand—that was the request JYSK made to Big Pictury.
The solution: An image that conveys appreciation
The Big Picture translates the results of employee surveys into a clear, comprehensive overview. It shows which issues were addressed, what actions were taken as a result, and how these are reflected in day-to-day work.
This makes it easy to see at a glance how feedback leads to concrete changes—and what role employees have played in this process.
Individual scenes
The scene shows how teams work together to streamline workflows and continuously improve processes. Feedback is actively used to make day-to-day work more efficient and transparent.
The career ladder shown here illustrates the wide range of career paths and opportunities for professional development that JYSK offers its employees.
The storefront symbolizes our shared success in the local community and the collaboration between the team, customers, and the company. Improved working conditions and processes have a direct impact on day-to-day operations and the customer experience.
This is how the big picture came about
Together with JYSK, we structured and prioritized the content and gradually transformed it into a visual narrative. The goal was to clearly organize the wide range of initiatives and establish a clear connection between them.
1. Workshop & Analysis
The findings from the employee surveys, along with the resulting actions, were compiled, grouped, and categorized into initial thematic areas—serving as the basis for the visual structure.
2. Prototyping & Iteration
Based on this structure, an initial draft was developed, which was further refined and clarified in terms of content through several rounds of consultation with JYSK.
3. Feedback & Finalization
The finished Big Picture was prepared for printing and distributed to stores throughout Germany. The concept was also adapted for Switzerland, including multiple language versions for the Swiss market.
Effect & Results
Since the Big Picture was such a huge success with our German colleagues, JYSK Switzerland wanted its own version.
Together with the JYSK Switzerland team, we adapted the existing image ahead of the next employee survey. Within two weeks, the finished Big Picture was displayed as an A2 poster in three languages across all 72 Swiss stores.
The result? The participation rate in the employee survey rose from 89 percent to 98 percent.
