As part of its corporate strategy through 2033, Würth Industrie Service has commissioned the development of a "Big Picture" that makes complex concepts easy to understand, provides guidance, and brings the strategic future to life visually—for every employee.
The goal was to convey the refined corporate strategy through a clear, memorable visual language—without revealing specific details. The Big Picture serves as an overarching visual framework that connects goals, values, the business model, strategy, and areas of focus into a cohesive whole, visualizing the company’s long-term path.
This is how the big picture came about
The Big Picture was developed in close collaboration with the Würth Industrie Service project team. Through an iterative process, strategic guidelines were gradually translated into a clear visual language. The focus was on clarity, accessibility, and a visual logic that provides guidance and makes connections immediately apparent.
1. Planning & Coordination
Working closely with the project team, we identified and structured strategic priorities, content clusters, and narrative connections, and translated them into a consistent visual framework. This phase laid the groundwork for a cohesive visual implementation.
2. Implementation & Fine-Tuning
Based on this, a detailed illustration was created that brought together strategic themes, areas of focus, and directions for development into a clear, cohesive composition. Several rounds of iteration ensured that the visual language, clarity of message, and visual emphasis were optimally aligned with the strategic objectives.
3. Digital expansion
In addition, the Big Picture was developed as an interactive click-through version. Users can select specific graphic elements, allowing employees to explore connections and delve deeper into content as needed—in an intuitive, flexible, and user-friendly way.
Use and Effect
Today, "The Big Picture" is a central element of internal communication at Würth Industrie Service. It has been and continues to be used in both digital and print formats, including in:
• Company-wide meetings/town hall sessions
• In-depth information sessions (deep dives)
• Internal conferences and workshops
• Internal media such as the intranet, booklets, and posters
The big picture always serves as a visual focal point: it supports decision-making, makes complex relationships easier to understand, and provides guidance in everyday life.
